The two confirmed leads
- Private Park is the campaign's newcomer perspective: a South Korean army recruit thrown into the invasion on day one of the war. Per the official story copy, he is a conscript whose routine patrol collapses when the invasion starts.
- Captain Price returns, but outside the structure fans know: he has broken from Task Force 141, is hunted by it, and runs a personal off-the-books war, chasing a weapon that Infinity Ward says can shift the balance of power.
Their storylines converge as the war escalates. The campaign page covers the structure.

Cast names come from press coverage of official interviews (GameSpot, Xbox Wire), not yet from an Activision cast page:

The squad around Park
Infinity Ward's narrative director named the campaign's core crew in an official interview: the Korean fireteam of Park, Jay, Cho and Moon, joined by two embedded US Marines, West and Dunn, forming a six-person vehicle crew. It is one of the largest casts the studio has put in a Call of Duty game. These are story characters, not multiplayer operators, so far.
Confirmed as operators, not (yet) as story roles
The Vault Edition's Hostile Alliance pack confirms these characters exist in Modern Warfare 4 as operator skins with voice lines, usable at launch in MW4, Black Ops 7 and Warzone:

The Special Forces pack adds four faction operators (French COM SFT, German KSK Amphibious, South Korean special warfare, British SAS) with faction voice lines. Operators carry across modes: multiplayer and DMZ use the same skins. Full Vault contents.
Soap: the honest answer
Soap's death at the end of Modern Warfare III (2023) is the emotional reference point for this campaign, per the official story framing. Whether Soap appears in Modern Warfare 4, in flashback or otherwise, has not been announced. No official source names him in any capacity, and pages that list him as a playable character are guessing.
What we will not do
Fan-cast lists, datamined voice line speculation and "leaked" rosters do not go on this page. The moment Activision confirms a character, the tables above gain a row with a source. Until then, the absence of a name here is the information.
